[edit]The importance of this group has to do with the fame achieved by the band.
Unless you explain this fame, and use citations from uniterested 3rd parties, you can't establish notability. Just saying "dude, they are famous" isn't exactly good enough.
Please see http://www.dci.org/news/view.cfm?news_id=751b793a-089c-4619-b92b-6109c1e5f55 An article found on the Drum Corps International website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Robertscottcostello (talk • contribs) 01:55, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
It isn't my job to verify your links, if you are authoring the article, it is your job to create proper content, create citations, and establish the notability of the subject matter. I'm not the one who will delete the article, I just nominated it. PHARMBOY (TALK) 01:58, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
That's ok, I understand. This band rose to national fame. It's director became the director of the Traverse City Cherry Festival in Traverse City Michigan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Robertscottcostello (talk • contribs) 02:03, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
I have pulled the speedy tag for now, to allow some time to establish notability. You need a couple of citations from different newspapers, etc. talking about the band, with text in the body that refers to it, and properly cited. We can't read your mind on what they did that was "famous". ;) I will check back in a day or two. PHARMBOY (TALK) 02:16, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the reprieve. We will hunt down articles. Do please understand, though, that this will take longer since the era predates the web. If it turns out we get deleted, I'll just have to do a better job next time. If by some chance you can let this last until September 7th, we are honoring the widow of Doyle Heffron and would appreciate the time.
Thanks again,

[edit]This article is woefully underwritten. There are tons of sources out there, were someone to actually look for them. The band closed up shop in 1994, according to this Chicago Tribune article. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 18:56, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
